WINTER WEDDINGS..

.. can be beautiful! They are almost always inside, but that means no worrying about rain, no worrying about being too hot and perspiring all over the clothes..no high heels sinking into damp ground, no sun shining in people's eyes during the ceremony,no chance of candles blowing out, or planes overhead drowning out the ceremony! Yet, most people marry during the summer. June is supposed to be the month for brides, but here in Kentucky, we have warm enough weather from about April through October for at least parts of the event to be outdoors, and we have many wonderful locations to choose from.

You might find it easier to book the vendors you want, and to save money, by having a winter wedding!

Besides, if you can still afford to take a honeymoon after the wedding, isn't it more fun to get away from cold weather to go someplace warm!?!

Weddings! A Blog...

For the longest time, I have thought that it would be excellent to gather many stories of weddings performed and survived from UU ministers. I am guessing that all  ministers have had plenty of unusual and noteworthy experiences performing weddings... but UUs are especially susceptible to receiving the odd request and the unexpected couple. Invariably, people who come to me will say that they chose a UU minister because someone said, "Oh, the Unitarians will marry anybody!" Perhaps a good place for this blog to start would be to explore just whether that's true!
